Therapy for Chronic Overthinking, Rumination & OCD
I specialize in working with adult women and men who struggle with chronic overthinking, rumination, relationship anxiety, and obsessive or intrusive thoughts.
Many of my clients are thoughtful, high-functioning people, often mothers or partners in long-term relationships, who feel mentally stuck in loops of doubt, fear, or “what if” thinking. Some clients have suspected or confirmed neurodivergence (such as ADHD or autism) and notice that their thinking patterns intensify anxiety, rumination, or difficulty disengaging from intrusive thoughts.
While anxiety may affect your relationships, this page describes individual therapy only. If you and your partner are seeking joint sessions for relational conflict, please visit the Couples Therapy page.

This May Be a Good Fit If…
This work is often a strong fit for adults who:
-
Replay conversations repeatedly and analyze what they said or did
-
Constantly question whether they made the “right” decision
-
Seek reassurance from partners but still feel uncertain afterward
-
Experience intrusive thoughts that feel disturbing or “not like me”
-
Struggle with relationship anxiety despite being in stable partnerships
-
Feel mentally exhausted from trying to think their way to certainty
-
Identify as deep thinkers or highly sensitive
-
Have suspected or diagnosed ADHD or autism and notice anxiety shows up as rumination, hyperfocus on fears, or difficulty shifting attention away from intrusive thoughts
I work with generalized anxiety and OCD, including intrusive thoughts, using evidence-based approaches such as Inferential CBT (ICBT).

When This May Not Be the Right Fit
This may not be the best fit if:
-
You are under 18
-
You are experiencing active suicidal intent or require crisis stabilization (please contact 988 or local emergency services)
-
You have severe OCD requiring intensive or higher-level support
-
You are specifically seeking Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
-
Substance use is the primary driver of symptoms
If you require multiple sessions per week or structured exposure-based programming, a specialized OCD intensive program may be more appropriate.
This practice does not provide medication management, court-ordered treatment, or forensic evaluations.
If a higher level of care is appropriate, I will provide referrals.

How I Work
My work focuses on interrupting the anxiety cycle, especially patterns of overthinking, mental checking, reassurance-seeking (including googling or asking multiple opinions), and attempts to forecast every possible outcome.
Many clients try to solve anxiety by thinking harder. In reality, repeated analysis, replaying conversations, asking for reassurance, or avoiding triggers often strengthens the anxiety cycle over time.
In therapy, we identify:
-
How doubt is being generated
-
How mental compulsions maintain anxiety
-
How reassurance provides short-term relief but reinforces long-term distress
-
Where intolerance of uncertainty is driving the loop
I have completed advanced training in Inferential CBT (ICBT), an evidence-based treatment for OCD that targets the reasoning processes underlying obsessive doubt, and I pursue ongoing consultation to ensure fidelity to the model.
For clients with intrusive thoughts, we focus on how doubt is constructed, rather than trying to suppress or argue with the content of thoughts.
When anxiety affects your relationships, we address how internal doubt and reassurance-seeking patterns impact connection, while keeping the work individual-based.
If earlier experiences contribute to heightened sensitivity to rejection or abandonment, we address those patterns in the context of reducing present-day anxiety, not as standalone trauma processing.
When working with neurodivergent clients, I consider how processing style, hyperfocus, or executive functioning patterns may interact with anxiety.
Sessions are typically weekly and 55 minutes in length.

Training & Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker experienced in working with adult women and men navigating anxiety, OCD, relationship distress, grief, and trauma.
I have specialized training in Inferential CBT (ICBT), an evidence-based treatment for OCD that focuses specifically on obsessive doubt and faulty inference.
I frequently work with thoughtful, introspective adults who want depth-oriented therapy rather than surface-level coping skills alone.
